1st Global Communities brings together partners, financial advisors and wealth management assistants for hands-on, workshop-style educational opportunities.

Communities enhances your opportunity to connect with firms that are focused on the same “on the business” and “in the business” opportunities as you are. We know how important this is to you — you've consistently expressed to us your overwhelming desire to learn and build relationships within the 1st Global family and with firms that share your business-building challenges. Whether you are a firm focused on growth through fee-based planning, seizing on large case opportunities, or you are a wealth management assistant looking to maximize your firm’s efficiencies, Communities workshops are specifically designed to meet your unique challenges and opportunities.
Communities is a conference focused on growth, which is why this year’s emphasis is on what you’ve told us is your biggest hurdle to growth: client acquisition. Through a mixture of general and breakout track sessions, you will learn proven methods for effectively marketing your firm, enhance your skills in the latest technology and explore advanced financial planning opportunities. With all of the business-building knowledge to be shared at Communities, it’s no longer a question of whether you should attend — it’s a question of why wouldn’t you.
While 1st Global National Conference focuses on strategic challenges facing the industry and your firm, Communities focuses on sales and marketing activities specific to your firm. In addition, the focus of Communities is on education and accountability around product knowledge, sales skills, marketing campaigns and practice development. Networking is driven through workshops and educational sessions, with less emphasis placed on social events.
The registration fee is $349 for both financial advisors and assistants. This fee includes all conference educational programming and meals, including Sunday’s Welcome Reception and breakfast and lunch for Monday and Tuesday.
In order to provide more flexibility to attendees, we have removed the hotel component from the registration fee to allow for attendees to determine the best housing options based on their needs. We highly encourage attendees to stay at the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star. 1st Global has secured a discounted group rate of $199 (plus tax) per night. Visit the Travel tab to learn more on how to secure your hotel reservation at the Omni.

While the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex always offers visitors a variety of entertainment opportunities, the focus of 1st Global Communities will be on education. There will be no guest activities at Communities, and sessions will typically run longer and be more intense than general sessions and breakouts held at National Conference or Eagles Executive Forum. Our goal is to maximize your time at this event by remaining focused on the educational workshops and general sessions designed specifically to build your business.
One thing you can count on is that Texas in July will be HOT! This means that the air conditioning inside meeting rooms might feel a little chilly, so bring along a light jacket or sweater for your comfort.
Business casual is acceptable for all educational sessions and meals.
Advisors can expect a generous amount of CE credit to be offered at Communities. At this time, we cannot release which sessions will be available for CE credit, as some are still in the approval process. Once CE credit is approved, we will publish it to the event website under the Agenda page. Be on the lookout for more information closer to the event.
The Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star offers complimentary self-parking in parking lot B1 and valet parking for hotel guests. The rate for valet parking is $18 per day and $24 overnight. Please note you will be responsible for any valet or parking costs.
All attendees are responsible for their own forms of ground transportation to and from the airport. Please reference the Travel tab on the website for more information regarding transportation options.
