Director of Marketing, Communications, and Events

Emily James is the director of marketing, communications and events in the Marketing department at 1st Global. Emily is responsible for the leadership and daily management of the Marketing, Communications and Events teams; she promotes teamwork, professionalism, responsibility and accountability through coaching and feedback. Her specialty is identifying cross-departmental connections in projects and working across a wide spectrum of stakeholders to craft experiences and provide information that inspires action with financial advisors, wealth management assistants and employees.

Emily was invited to join the Omni Hotels & Resorts Group Customer Advisory Board of 2019. As a leading expert in the events industry, Omni believes her experience and knowledge distinguish her as a forward-thinking leader within the industry, capable of identifying and diagnosing the behavior Omni aims to bring to light. In 2018, Emily was also recognized by Connect Corporate magazine as “40 Under 40” honoree.

Emily received her bachelor’s degree in speech communications and public relations from the University of Central Arkansas. She joined 1st Global in 2009 and has served as event specialist, meeting and event planner, senior meeting and event planner, manager of the Wealth Management Academy and director of events prior to taking on her current role.

A certified meeting professional, Emily seeks to create experiences that motivate people to change their realities and the realities of their clients. She appreciates that her role enables her to design meaningful experiences for financial service professionals because, through the exchange of new ideas, education and innovation, her work has real-time impact on families and businesses.
