Moises Ospina, CIMA®

Investment Management Solutions Regional Director

Moises Ospina currently works as an investment management solutions regional director at 1st Global, where he works affiliated advisors to create strategies to growth assets under management on the 1st Global IMS platform. Moises joined 1st Global in 2012 and has held a number of positions prior to his current role, including senior advisor in the Capital Markets Group, where he assisted in the management of more than $35 million in fixed-income portfolios, provided consistent market updates to advisors, led biweekly market focus meetings for the company, created content for monthly articles on relevant market topics, presented at WIN Team meetings, and worked with the director of Capital Markets on strategic initiatives to ensure all team members were consistently adding value to advisors and institutional investors. Moises also previously served as the director of Capital Markets, managing the Fixed Income Desk and Unified Choice team and ensuring the smooth daily operations of managed accounts on 1st Global proprietary models and third-party money managers.

Moises received his bachelor’s degree in finance and international relations from Universidad Externado de Colombia and studied in the English as a Second Language program at the State University of New York. He was inspired to enter the financial services industry because of his grandfather, who was the only banker in the small town where he grew up in Colombia and always cited his professional mission in life to be servicing his clients and helping them achieve their financial goals — a principle that stuck with Moises and continues to influence the values he places in his work every day at 1st Global. In his current role, he strives to deliver exceptional service and quality products and provide value to advisors in every conversation he has, transaction he carries out and presentation he gives.

Before beginning his career at 1st Global, Moises was a fixed-income trader at JPMorgan Chase, where he traded corporate, municipal, Treasury and agency bonds and supported affluent, independent and senior financial consultants across the U.S. He is a member of the Association of Latino Professionals for America, a Certified Investment Management AnalystSM and has passed his FINRA Series 4, 7, 24, 53, 63 and 66 exams.
